🎓 “Books Over Barriers” — Education for Refugee Children

About This Campaign

Across refugee camps in Syria, Yemen, Palestine, and among the Rohingya, millions of Muslim children are growing up without access to even the most basic education.

For many of these children, life has been defined by:

• Fleeing their homes in fear
• Losing parents, الأمن (safety), and stability
• Living in overcrowded camps with no proper schools

Instead of waking up for school and saying Bismillah, they wake up to:

• Empty stomachs and uncertainty
• Long hours helping their families survive
• Streets and camps where education is simply not available

⚠️ Over 7.1 million refugee children are out of school worldwide
⚠️ In crisis zones, up to 70% of children lack consistent education access
⚠️ Many children miss 5–10 years of learning, leaving them unable to read or write even basic words

This is creating a lost generation within the Ummah — children who grow up without skills, without opportunity, and without hope.

💔 The Deeper Reality:
Without education, these children are at serious risk of:

• Being pushed into child labor just to survive
• Early marriages, especially for young girls
• Falling into exploitation or dangerous environments
• Losing their Islamic identity due to lack of guidance and structure

📖 Knowledge in Islam is not optional — it is an obligation.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

Yet today, millions of Muslim children are being denied this right — not by choice, but by circumstance.
